We went to Hilton Head earlier this summer with the fam. It’s a trip we take every year, and the house we stay in has a pool table and a giant, life-size chessboard on the floor of the garage. My husband and I thought it would be fun to do a fashion photo shoot one night after everyone went to sleep (and a great excuse to use our new camera!).
I had just chopped all my hair off again after enduring a hellish pixie grow-out for a whole year and was in the process of building this website. I wanted to have a style spotlight to feature at launch, and the chess scene provided the perfect opportunity.
We stopped at the Tanger Outlets on the way to the house, and bought a couple of fedoras. I wanted a hat to go with the LBD and gladiator sandals I had planned to wear. I completed my look with a cigar and a glass of bourbon to give it a 50’s gangster vibe. The lighting in the garage wasn’t great, so most of the pictures we ended up converting to black and white.
Hats don’t usually look good on me, especially when my hair is short, and I’m pretty awkward in front of the camera, but I must say, I think I rocked this shoot! (Must have been the liquid courage…)
Anyway, here are my faves from the pics my very talented hubby took. 🙂
